DEFOAMING PROCESS

The defoaming process consists of a washing process that precedes the heat treatment and is carried out using specific alkaline-based products necessary for degreasing and removing oils, greases, stearates and especially phosphates used mainly on steel to increase the efficiency of the lubricants required for cold drawing.

! This is a requirement referred to in many of automotive’s heat treatment specifications and is provided for strength classes ≥ 10.9 and referred to in the reference standard ISO 898-1.
